We respect the privacy of all our website users and clients, and are committed to protecting such privacy in accordance with this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). This Privacy Policy explains our treatment of your personally identifiable information collected in connection with:
(i) your access and use of this website (“the Portal”);
(ii) any activities or transactions conducted on or through the Portal; and/or
(iii) your decision to retain the firm to provide legal advice and services to you.

  1. Information Collected
    1. In the course of operating the Portal and when providing legal services to our clients, we are likely to collect two types of information: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information.
    2. “Personal Information” is personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, birth date and gender. Personal Information is collected by us when you choose to provide it to us when:
      (i) registering as a user of the Portal in order to obtain specific services and/or products;
      (ii) choosing to receive our newsletter and/or bulletins;
      (iii) deciding to participate in a workshop organized by us;
      (iv) purchasing any products and/or services made available on or through the Portal; and/or
      (v) retaining the firm to provide legal advice and/or services to you.
    3. Business contact information such as the name, title, business address, e-mail address or telephone number of a business or professional person or an employee of an organization is not considered Personal Information.
    4. “Non-Personal Information” is information of an anonymous nature, such as an Internet Protocol Address (“IP Address”), the domain used to access the Portal, and the type and version of browser or operating system being used. Aggregate information, such as demographic statistics of our users (e.g. geographical location of our users), number of visitors and average time spent at the Portal, is also considered Non-Personal Information.
    5. We limit the collection of Personal Information to that which is required to:
      (i) enable us to provide you with the services requested;
      (ii) operate our business;
      (iii) maintain our website; and
      (iv) ensure our compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

    1. Personal Information may be used by us for the following purposes:
      • Providing you with the services and information you have requested from us, including use of the Portal and subscription to newsletters and/or any other materials. We may from time to time use your Personal Information to contact you about changes, enhancements or similar notices related to the Portal;
      • If you indicated that you were interested in receiving our newsletter or bulletins, we will be sending you e-mail materials from time to time. If, at any time, you would like to end your subscription to any such e-mail materials, kindly follow the directions posted at the bottom of the e-mail material;
      • Maintaining client accounts and performing billing as well as other administrative functions; and
      • Fulfilling our legal and other professional obligations as required by law and/or relevant rules and regulations.
         
  3. Disclosure of Personal Information
    1. We do not disclose your Personal Information to anyone. We will only disclose your Personal Information to third parties:
      • where you have specifically given us your consent to disclose your Personal Information for a designated purpose;
      • as required by law, including by an order of any court, institution or body with jurisdiction or authority to compel the production of information;
      • when the legal services we are providing to you require us to give your information to third parties, and your consent will be implied unless you tell us otherwise;
      • where it is necessary to establish or collect fees, or to protect our legal interest (including for credit checking);
      • if we retain the assistance of other law firms, external experts or other professionals, on your behalf; and
      • if we engage a third party service provider to provide administrative or other support services to us (e.g. computer back-up services, archival file storage, online billing and payment) and the said party is bound by this or a substantially similar privacy policy or obligations of confidentiality.

    1. The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that your Personal Information is kept safe from loss, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. This includes the necessary technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security steps to protect Personal Information that you provide to us. We instruct our employees and/or agents with access to your Personal Information that it is to be used only in adherence with the principles set forth in this Privacy Policy and the applicable laws.
       
  5. Changes to this Privacy Policy
    1. We may from time to time change this Privacy Policy. Such changes will be effective when notice of such change is posted at the Portal. Please check this Privacy Policy regularly for updates by checking the date of “Last Update” at the top of this document.
       
  6. Accessing and Changing Personal Information
    1. We recognize your right to your Personal Information that we have collected. We will make the effort to inform you of what information we have on you when we receive any such request from you. However, where such request requires detailed information and involve archive or other retrieval costs, this may be subject to normal professional and disbursement fees being charged.
    2. If we hold Personal Information about you and you establish that it is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we will take reasonable steps to correct the same.
    3. If you decide at any time that you do not want to receive any e-mail materials to which you have subscribed, you may choose to unsubscribe to these e-mails by following the instructions at the bottom of the e-mail material.
